At the Docks
|
(October 14, 2357)
At the docks in Antodlos is Don,
Greg and Tony
preparing for the departure of one of the larger freight ships.
They discuss the large amounts of supplies that just arrived.
Don
asks Tony if he ever wondered what was in the cargo boxes.
Greg says
shipping crates and Tony says who cares maybe it's some new housing
project. Tony continues by talking about the need for a new
addition on his house since his wife just had a new baby.
Don asks
so how many kids due you have anyway. Tony says 6, 3 boys and now 3
girls. Greg says to
Tony what was your new daughters
designation Tony says MS3. |
Don says Marine Scientist, I also have 2 daughters who will be
Marine Scientist but they have both been assigned to section 2.
Greg says
my 2 son's are both following my foot steps and will soon be working down
here with me at DW1's. "Great" says
Don. My oldest son will be
in training here soon too.
Just then the final horn blows that the boat will be leaving the dock.
Don,
Greg and Tony take a lunch break at the nearby
Delicatessen where Margaret works. All the Dock workers enjoy
the food and company at Margaret's.
Margaret is a older lady
but has her entire family working at the Deli,
Suzie, Vicky, Carol,
Joe and her husband Bart. This is common on the island where
entire families run the business for generations. After
Don,
Greg and Tony select/order their food
Don offers to buy the guys
lunch today and places his had on the flat bed scanner authorization
the debt to his monthly salary. |
|
During their lunch many dock workers come and go through the deli
and greet the guys eating their lunch talking about the number of ships
unloaded during the last week. Suzie the oldest of
Margaret's
daughter asks Tony if
Scott (Tony's oldest son) is working today.
Tony
jokes with Suzie that he was having lunch with
Greg's oldest daughter and
Suzie turned up her nose and stormed away. The guys were laughing
when Scott walked in and asked "Hay what's so funny"? Just then
Suzie slammed a door and gave
Scott a dirty look. As
Scott walked
over to hug Suzie the Guys again started to Laugh.
Don, Greg and
Tony went out side to resume work just in time when a new
arrival of crates were being deliverd on the dock from Seaville.
|
Mark the driver gave a holler to the guys to get to
work. Don jumped in a forklift and grabbed a load of crates
labeled Shrimp. Greg and
Tony opened up a 40' container that was
refrigerated.
Several other truck continue to arrive and in the background we
can see a ship leaving and arriving the dock at Antodlos. |
